چکیده مقاله:

Objective: During the past 50 years, numerous trials were conducted with microorganisms known as probiotics in efforts to improve cultivability of food species, and to improve human health and welfare. Appropriate probiotic applications were shown to improve intestinal microbial balance, thus leading to improved food absorption. Probiotics have been shown to be effective in a wide range of species for the promotion of growth, enhanced nutrition, immunity and survival. We tested an allochthonous strain, Saccharomyces cerevisiae PTCC 5052 on growth factors on survival of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Method & Materials: The yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae PTCC5052) was obtained from Iranian Research Organization of Science and Technology (IROST). The weight and length of fries were measured before feeding started. Then, 700 fish were counted per tank. The initial stocking density was 60 larvae per litre. Water flow rate were maintained at approximately 0.5 - 1 litr/min. A 12-h light: 12-h dark photoperiod was maintained and controlled by timers to prepare natural condition to larvae. Each diet was fed to fishes 7 times per day in light hours. Feeding trial was conducted for 7weeks. Results & Conclusion: Total length, and wet weight were 44.36 mm and 0.786 g, respectively. The spesific growth rate for each treatment was calculated. As result, the SGR for control, treatment A, treatment B, and treatment C, was 3.21, 3.36, 3.34, 3.43, respectively. Condition factor for each treatment was calculated. As result, the CF for control, treatment A, treatment B, and treatment C, was 0.924, 0.902, 0.905, 0.896, respectively. It seems the length enhancement of probiotic treatments was better than weight enhancement, because the condition factor in probiotic treatments is lower than control. Its reason can be found in feeding.
