Study on levels of the Creatinine in serum of the rainbow trout (Oncorhyncus mykiss) afflicted to Nephrocalsinosis

Objective: This study was conducted on nephrocalcinosis in Rainbow trout fish and its correlation with serum creatinine. Method & Materials: Samplings were performed in three fish farms by different water sources: river, spring and recirculation system. In this survey 5 specimens were collected randomly from each 8 groups. Then blood and renal tissues were sampled. The latter were fixed in 10% of buffered formalin and detected serum stored in -200C. Renal specimens were transferred to the pathology laboratory. Pathological slides were prepared and stained by haematoxylin & Eosin. Results & Conclusion: Nephrocalcinosis was observed in 6 fish with renal epithelial necrosis, dilated ureters, dense basophilic materials inside the dilated tubules and cast formation in some renal tubules. From 6 cases of nephrocalcinosis, 3 cases (2/5%) related to recirculation system and 2 (1/66%) cases related to river water and 1 (0/83%) case related to spring water. Amount of Creatinine between different age groups, defined that difference between creatinine average in different weight groups was significant and also between healthy and afflicted fish, there was significant analytical difference in creatinine amount.
