چکیده مقاله:
Islam has been the topic of much heated debate in the news in the past decade or so and even further back. The aim of this essay is to open up the controversy surrounding Islam, Muslimpeople, and other viewpoints that seem to be creating a tense environment in the current political sphere in Europe.Islamophobia has increased in France and Holland since the 0791s because the corevalues of Islam (jihad, Quran, and the veil) are seen as a direct threat to France’s secular (non-religious) tradition, the Dutch fear Islam because they feel that Islamic beliefs do not belong within their western and liberal society, increasing the need to protect their national identity against this foreign invasion. Furthermore, there has been an increased feeling of dislike forMuslims in Holland and France because of the role that the media has played in portraying Muslims as an endangerment to liberal and secular ideologies. The term Islamophobia describes prejudice against, hatred or irrational fear of Islam or Muslims. It also refers to the practise of discriminating against Muslims […] and is a violent political ideology rather than a religion. 0 This definition should be kept in mind throughout this essay when talking about islamophobia.I will also define the term secular as it will be frequently referred to in the contents of this paper. The word secular is an adjective denoting attitudes, activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual basis
