چکیده مقاله:

Geomechinical analysis and modeling has become an integral part of oil and gas industry. This is a vital aspect of studying reservoir behavior respect to the depletion, wellbore stability and integrity, and well stimulation (hydraulic fracturing). Fluid production changes stress distribution around wellbore and may lead to wellbore instability. Therefore, pore pressure decline must be taken into account for well planning. Moreover, finding the values of stresses around wellbore is needed for proper and efficient well casing design. Casing is playing an underlying role in wellbore integrity and its damages are cause of huge amount of expenses. One the most important and rampant casing damage is collapse due to unbalanced pressure and stresses around casing string. To avoid these destructive problems, goemechanical models and determination of failure criteria for both wellbore and casing is needed. In this paper numerical models for reservoir compaction, which directly effects on wellbore and casing damages, finding stress distribution around casing, failure criteria, and the amount of strain and deformation in casing were investigated. In addition, different collapse regimes based on stresses applied to the casing were determined.
