Effect of non-homogeneous index of FGM and FGP materials on the natural frequencies ofthe rotating sandwich cylindrical shell

In this paper the effect of non-homogeneous index aboutfunctionally graded materials on the natural frequencies ofrotating cylindrical shell is investigated. The shell isconsidered as a sandwich structure which the middle layeris a FGM layer and it s integrated with two functionallygraded piezoelectric layers (FGP). The FSDT is applied tomodel electromechanical system. Adopting the Hamilton sprinciple the equations of motion are derived as partialdifferential equations. Then Galerkin s method is applied todiscretize the governing equations. Validation is done bycomparing results of this study with previously publishedresults and good agreement is observed. Finally the effectsof non-homogeneous index of FGM and FGP Layers onnatural frequencies are investigated.
