Stochastic Congestion Management using Demand Response Programs

In order to ensure a competitive market and secure power system it is essential to relieve congestion. Also it is important to manage congestion with cost benefit methods. In this paper Demand Response Programs are implemented to relieve congestion because of their effects on demand reduction in power system. Power system uncertainties are also considered in this proposed congestion management (CM) method. To obtain good performance of Demand Response Program , ISO considers both incentive and penalty amounts for the consumers take part in these programs. The proposed method is tested on New-England 39- bus test system
