Design and Implementation of Virtual Hospital

Imagine a world where patients in rural areas far from a nearby physician can easily find a health care provider to consult with online from the comfort of their own homes; where physicians living in Tehran can help reduce thebacklog of patients waiting to see physicians in Isfahan; and where patients can connect to a physician over the Internet for routine medical purposes witha few clicks of the mouse—like they do when ordering a book on Amazon. The aim of this paper is to design an online system to create a virtual hospital.Virtual hospital will be implemented as a web site using PHP programming language. The virtual hospital can provide secure online technology throughwhich patients can access physicians for live, on-demand, and scheduled encounters. The virtual hospital allows online communication between physician and patients. The virtual hospital for both the patient and thephysician will provide services such as immediate access to primary care, convenience of receiving care, choice of providers based on patient-driven criteria and more coordinated care options.
