In this paper, series of novel pH-responsive silver (Ag) nanoparticlef Poly (acryliamide) composite hydrogel were successfully prepared by in situ reducing Ag ions anchored in the hydrogel by photochemical reactions. The formed nano-Ag had an average particle size of 5-10 nm as observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that the swelling ratios of hydrogel could be changed by loading the Ag ions. Moreover, compared to the pure Poly(acryliamide) hydrogel, the Agnanoparticles Poly(acryliamide) composite hydrogels exhibit much higher swelling ratio and faster deswelling rate,
