To communicate internationally involves human activity interculturally furthermore. In alternative words, language may be a part of culture and culture may be a part of a language. Inevitably, understanding a language involves notsolely the knowledge of grammar, phonology, and lexis however conjointly a particular options and characteristics of the culture. Accordingly, the present study sought to evaluate the intercultural sensitivity of Iranian EFL learners. Forthis purpose, 45 students found to be homogeneous were selected among 90 students after the administration of generallanguage proficiency test (PET). To collect data Chenand Starosta s (2000) Intercultural sensitivity scale (ISS) was used to measure their intercultural sensitivity level. Groups completed an instrument comprising 5 factors with 24 items. Experimental groups received treatment (Video observation and Social behavior Techniques), but in thecontrol group (Implicit group) learners were taught without any special treatment but the course book materials. Theresult indicated that two experimental groups significantly differed from control group (Implicit group). Although there were not significant differences between two experimental groups with regard to the techniques used in the classes, the second one, social behavior group, performed better than the first, video observation. Applications of intercultural awarness techniques served as a bridge to introduce new cultures, knowledge and people to students and help them to be more competent in second language learning.
