A Comparative Study of Victor Higo s Les Miserables and Charles Dickens s A Tale of Two Cities Based on Hermeneutics Framework

This paper aims to examine the similarities and differences between Victor Hugo s Les Miserables and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, and it will be discussed that in which traits or points these works are different. Anotherimportant factor is that how stories have revolutionary sides and the subject matter of both works are compared. Inboth works, revolutionary system is discussed. In Britain and France, Kings and Queens definitely ruled on the lands,but in both lands, revolt was prowling. This article tries to use hermeneutics framework for understanding better. The result shows that both authors used revolution and the poor to shed light the situation at the time. In these two stories, characters are as similar as they get into the same situation, war, love, and destiny. The revolutionists are appeared sodifferently in these two novels. To some critics, hermeneutical study concluded that hermeneutics is just a knowledge, itis not mean to interpret a literary criticism, but can be examined text
