Micelles Formati on Behavior of Asphaltene Obtained From Iranian Crude Oil

The aim of this paper is the study of the behavior of micellization and coacervation of asphaltene in aromatic solvents. The effect of some aromatic solvents on the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the micelle coacervation point at various concentrations and temperatures were studied. At concentration above the CMC, asphaltene in the solution will be self-associate saturation phase. At a higher concentration asphaltene micelles in the solution coacervate which is represented by a second sharp point of inflection corresponding to the asphaltene MCP. Finally at a higher concentration the aggregation of asphaltene coacervates occurs.
