چکیده مقاله:

Bacterial infections are the major complication in application of implanted biomaterials applications [1]. Instead of modification of biomaterials with low molecular weightantibacterial additives, biocides can be immobilized on the biomaterial structure via chemical bonds, to avoid unwanted side-effects against surrounding tissues. As well, better bactericidal activity is expected due to higher local concentration of biologically active groups on thebiomaterial/tissue interface [2, 3]. Quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) are well-known biocides with widespread activity against different bacteria [2].Preparation of antibacterial polyurethane coatings from novelfunctional soybean oil was considered in this work. All prepared monomers and final polymeric coatings were characterized by conventional spectroscopic methods. Physical, mechanical and viscoelastic properties as well as biocompatibility and antibacterial properties were studied
