چکیده مقاله:

Military high explosives are safe to handle and they have a long shelf life. They contain high energy density so that they have high rate of propagation of explosion (detonationreaction). These energetic compounds are combined with polymers and substances to match desired properties.Polymer bonded explosives (PBXs) consist of explosive components bound together by a polymeric binder. During recent years, there has been an increasing demand forinsensitive high-explosive PBX system [1]. The safety issues associated with the storage, handling and transportation ofthe weapons which are contained these material, has led to the introduction of PBX. Crystalline explosives are combined with a polymeric binderto formulate composite PBXs [2].The design of PBXs systems requires suitable choices of energetic high explosives and appropriate polymeric (plastic) binders. Until the 1960s, mainly waxes and paraffins were used as classic binder system for press explosive formulations. In modern pressed and die-cast formulations, particularly in the field of insensitive high explosive (IHE), many polymers are used due to their wide range of properties. Mainlythermoplastic and elastomer are used as binder for pressed formulation [3]. In this work, a new PBX composition isintroduced, which include ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), 2,4,6- trinitrotoluene (TNT) and a sample of a specific wax (inderamic wax).
