چکیده مقاله:
At present, there is no universally accepted treatment for spinal cord injury. Central nervous system injuries lead to a complicated cellular response accompanying with a scar formation which is an important barrier to axonal regeneration. The major inhibitors on scar are chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs), which can be digested by chondroitinase ABC (ch-ABC). Here, ch-ABC loaded PLGA nanoparticles were prepared by double emulsion/ evaporation method and characterized. Effects of particles on axonal regeneration and functional recovery of spinal cord injured rats were investigated. The prepared NPs were spherical in shape with smooth and pore-free surfaces along with a relatively narrow particle size distribution. The mean particle size of the optimized formulation was 251.3±8.5 nm. The FT-IR results confirmed the protein loading in the particles. BBB score, histological and immunohistochemical results were shown more functional recovery and axonal regeneration in the contused rats who received chABC NPS
