Study on Microstructure Development and Properties of Polyacetal /Thermoplastic Polyurethane /OrganoclayNanocomposite

This paper considers the study on Nano composite of polyacetal/Thermoplastic polyurethane /organoclay in various contents. The effect of organoclay concentration and feeding order on microstructure development of polyacetal/thermoplastic polyurethane/organocaly nanocomposite were investigated. The melt compounding consisting of melt blending and melt intercalation process was carried out in a laboratory internal mixer at temperature of 200 C and rotor speed 60 rpm for 2,4 and 6 weight percentage of organoclay.The result of XRD showed greater extent of intercalation for the samples in which the organocaly was first melt mixed with the thermoplastic polyurethane compared to those samples which was repaired by first melt mixing organoclay with polyacetal.This could be attributed to greater affinity of thermoplastic polyurethane in the intercalation compared to polyacetal
