The present work investigates a dual catalyst bed concept for industrial Fischer- Tropsch synthesis at dynamic condition for the first time. Dual-type reactor, a system with two catalyst bed instead of one single bed is developed for Fischer- Tropsch synthesis. In the first catalytic reactor, the synthesis gas is partially converted to the Fischer- Tropsch products in a conventional water- cooled type reactor. In the second reactor, the reaction heat is used to preheat the feed gas to the first reactor. In this work for simulation purposed, a heterogeneous one-dimensional model is used to analyze and compare the performance of dual catalyst bed and conventional single bed reactors. The proposed model was investigated against measured process data of Fischer- Tropsch plant and a good agreement was achieved. In this work is try to introduce an advanced technology for converting natural gas to Fischer- Tropsch products at low cost in large quantities which supposed that the operating conditions and production rate are higher than other type of reactors . The conversion and yield of some components are compared and as a result of this work show that the dual catalyst bed system can be operated with higher conversion.
