چکیده مقاله:

In structural engineering, a shear wall is a structural system composed of braced panels (alsoknown as shear panels) to counter the effects of lateral load acting on a structure. Wind andseismic loads are the most common loads that shear walls are designed to carry. On the otherhand Space structure is a truss-like, lightweight rigid structure constructed from interlockingstruts in a geometric pattern. Space frames can be used to span large areas with few interiorsupports. Like the truss, a space frame is strong because of the inherent rigidity of the triangle;flexing loads (bending moments) are transmitted as tension and compression loads along thelength of each strut. Implement of these structures are easy and good alternative for shear walls. In this study the behavior of space structures as resisting elements against lateral loads will bediscussed. Placement of Lattice Wall Space elements walls was designed by Formian2.0software. Simulation and nonlinear static analysis of structural models performed usingSAP2000 software. The results show that space structures can reduce the cross section of themain structural members. Because they can distribute the loads among all the members and canreduce internal stresses.
