چکیده مقاله:

Industrial metallic constructions are subjected to SCC if used in corrosive medium under mechanical stress. The cooling waters used in most industries are in contact with metallic parts and machineries which they are under stress it can create cracking leading to SCC. Corrosion inhibitors which are used in most cooling water system to control general corrosion are expected to prevent SCC as well, but there are concerns about their effectiveness in real conditions. In this work we have used two organic and nonorganic corrosion inhibitors namely sodium molybdate and sodium polyphosphate in simulated cooling water to study their effectiveness on SCC of carbon steel samples under SSRT .The results showed that both inhibitors reduced corrosion of carbon steel in simulated cooling water and consequently delayed SCC
