چکیده مقاله:
In operating theaters, indoor air quality essentially evaluated by minimizing the effects of ventilation distribution system to protects the patients from infections. Although infection control is obviously the main focus in air distribution systems, thermal comfort also play a key role in the quality and proficiency of the air distribution system. In this article computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of air flow and temperature in operating theater are investigated. Contaminant Removal Effectiveness (CRE) and Local Air Quality Index (LAQI) are used to estimate the ventilation system effectiveness with respect to contaminant removal and also Air Diffusion Performance Index (ADPI), Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) and Predicted Dissatisfied (PPD) are used to estimate the ventilation effectiveness with respect of thermal satisfaction of staffs. It has been found that the air flow and air velocity significantly affect contaminant removal and thermal comfort of all staffs in the operating theater. Therefore, the supply air entering the operating theater is very important and affect the operating theater specifications. It is also observed that the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in hospitals will lead to design the internal environment and improving health outcomes.
