The Interaction between Space Policy and Space legislation: The Case of Iran

The aim of the present article is to show that developing countries are major customers and main benefactors of the commercial space applications and can benefit from the said applications in fulfilling their developmental aspirations. However, they face the very fundamental problem of legal lacunae and it is proposed that this crucial drawback is a very serious hindrance factor in the optimal utilization of space capabilities. The example of Iran is reviewed as a case study where the country’s space policies need to be translated into practical and suitable norms to enhance Iran’s use of outer space in terms of research and application
