Modeling and speed control of DC motors with PID controller

Todays, DC motors are used in numerous applications such as robotics, automation, servomechanism and etc. speed control of these motors is very important issue. In this paper, dynamic model of DC motors and its equations are proposed. In the following, this model and its output response are simulated in Matlab/Simulink software. Then, by designing PID controller and adjusting their parameters by trial and error method, desired output response is obtained. The results of simulation show that closed loop control of speed motor with PID have desired characteristic of output response.
