Study on the social consequences and affordability of Mehr housing project of Parand

Low-income people do not have many alternatives to rent or buy a quality house but in recent years, Mehr housing project has been supposed to provide housing with priority of this class. This study examines the positive and negative consequences of Mehr housing project in Parand new town (which is established to draw in the extra population of Tehran), in terms of social justice concept and affordability. The main strategy of inquiry for this study is literature review and archival analysis based on documents and reports. The result shows that whereas Mehr housing project has been established to support low-income households, with a neglect in considering a proper land use policy it can cause an emerge social and economic problems
