Alteration of Oil Viscosity by Mulberry Leaf Extract: Experimental Study

One of the methods of increasing productivity index of an oil well is reduction of oil viscosity. In well stimulation and heavy oil recovery, steam is used to reduce oil viscosity in order to improve oil recovery. In this paper, a new plan surfactant named Mulberry leaf extract is used to investigate experimentally its effect on oil viscosity. It has observed that surfactant affects on oil viscosity and increases it, so, it cannot be used for heavy oil recovery. The investigation is instructive for surfactant selection for enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
