چکیده مقاله:
In this research, nitrogen monoxide (NO) molecules physisorption on armchair graphene nanoribbon (GNR) have been studied within density functional methods. The adsorption geometries, adsorption energies and transferred charge are obtained. To take the Van der Waals forces into account, the Grimme correction has been added to the calculation method. The physisorption effect on the electrical properties of the ribbon is explored as a function of concentration density through the Green’s function techniques. Sensing features of the ribbon was investigated using the graphene nanoribbon as a channel of a back gated field effect transistor. Our results point out that, the graphene is a suitable substantial for NO detection and NO physisorption can improve the I-V characteristics of the GNR. As the concentration of the molecule increases and under the same applied bias voltage, the current through the nanoribbon increases. Also, the graphene back gated FET can improve the sensing properties.
