چکیده مقاله:

This study tends to review some conceptual research on teacher autonomy. Research shows that teacher autonomy can be identified as the freedom and big area of options to be chosen by the teachers on the taken classrooms. The purpose of this review is to clarify the meaning of autonomy to state precious views and perceptions on various aspects of control over classes by teachers, and to elaborate some probable problematic sources for teachers in controlling the class, material and evaluation process. This paper confirms the necessity to conduct further studies on different culture sets to prove if the different interpretations of teacher autonomy are due to the difference in cultures and policies made by country. It is also concluded that there is need to promote teachers’ autonomy in order to respect their points of view.
