A review of Machine translation Approaches for SMS Text Normalization

Text messaging or SMS has been one of the most popular communication forms for many years. Text normalization is a task of generating plain text from an unnormalized text. This article is related to a review on various techniques used to translate unnormalized text into its equivalent plain text. The aim of this article is to introduce this topic to the general reader-anyone interested in human language, translation, or computers.The idea is to give the reader a clear basic understanding of the state of the art, both in terms of what is currently possible, and how it is achieved.This should be especially interesting to anyone who is associated with what are sometimes called Machine Translation ; particularly translators, those training to be translators, and those who commission or use translations extensively. Also this paper is proposed the impact of misspelled words in statistical machine translation.
