چکیده مقاله:

ECE R17 applies to evaluate the strength of seats, their anchorages and their head restraints. This evaluation regards to categories M1 and N of vehicles. It also applies to the design of the devices intended to protect the occupants from the danger resulting from the displacement of luggage in a frontal impact of vehicles. During this safety test, two test blocks should be placed on the floor of the luggage compartment. After the installation of test blocks, the passenger car body shall be accelerated so that at the moment of impact, its free running speed is 50 +0/-2 km/h. Rear Seat and its components have to resist these loads without any damages. On the other hand, the correct modeling and simulation of this system is also essential for seat development process. Therefore, in this paper, finite element simulation of luggage test has been carried out using LS-Dyna. Then, the developed finite element model has been validated with the experimental results of ECE R17 luggage test. In this paper, the problems encountered and the approach used is presented.
