چکیده مقاله:
Excluding water, concrete is the most used material in construction in almost all countries. Because of various reasons, concrete pavements have become extremely important. As such, improving the quality of concrete will result in better pavements. Since flexural strength is one of the most important parameters in concrete pavement designs, improving and increasing the mentioned is critical. This study investigates the effect of Micronized Stone Powder on compressive and flexural strength. In order to better understanding of used micronized limestone, microstructural tests, that is XRF and XRD, are done. Varying weight percentages of Micronized Stone Powder (5, 10, 15, and 20) was added to concrete as admixtures in order to investigate their effect on compressive strength. Results have shown that use of 15 percent of micronized limestone increases the compressive strength by 9.2 percent. Flexural samples were made based on the optimum percentage obtained on compressive tests. Results of four-point bending tests have shown that use of 15 percent of micronized limestone increases flexural strength by 22.6 percent.
