AN EXAMINATION OF THE EFFECT OF COGNITIVE COMPUTER GAMESON PRESCHOOLERS’ VISUAL MEMORY AND MENTAL ROTATION

The present study was conducted aiming to examine the effect of cognitivecomputer games on preschoolers’ visual memory and mental rotation. Thestatistical population was comprised of all the preschoolers studying at Shiraz,from which, given limitations of the research, a total of 30 students wereselected using convenience sampling method. Furthermore, to collect theresearch data, Rey’s visual memory and Vandenberg’s mental rotation tests aswell as Tetris computer game were utilized. Moreover, in order to analyze thecollected data, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was employed. Results,yielded from statistical analysis, indicated that cognitive computer games havea significant effect on preschoolers’ visual memory and mental rotation
