Managerial skills differences of Iranian women entrepreneurs

Business world have recently changed due to the increasing trend of women entrepreneurial activities around the globe. Consequently, studies with a major focus of women entrepreneurs have emerged in the field of management. Although there has been a growing research interest in managerial skills of female entrepreneurs in developed countries, there is still paucity of empirical works about the managerial skills (technical, human and conceptual skills) differences of entrepreneurs and the relation between educational level and work experience and their managerial skills, especially in developing countries. The aim of present study is to identify managerial skills differences of Iranian women entrepreneurs in agriculture, industry and service sectors and also investigate the relation between educational level and work experience and their managerial skills. Questionnaires were mailed to 200 Iranian women entrepreneurs working in agriculture, industry and service sectors. Eventually, the results indicate that there are significant differences among entrepreneur’s managerial skills in agriculture, industry and service sectors and in addition there is a significant relation between educational level and work experience and their managerial skills.
