Petrochemical Wastes as Bitumen Modifiers

It is very hard to keep operative a chemical plant with too many wastes. In a petrochemical plant in which polymeric materials are produced there are some side products of this kind. There are some ways to get rid of these wastes and reuse them in a proper way. Bitumen was modified with the wastes of SBR and HDPE production lines. The HDPE wastes are very effective in high temperature, whereas SBR wastes are very effective in improving low and high temperature properties of bitumen. Combinations of these two polymeric wastes are good enough in production of polymer-modified bitumens. The resulting blends are of estimated performances at all service temperatures.
