Fertilizing and fertilizer optimization

Introductory section briefly overviews the objectives of this review and set the scene for some detailed investigation of subject matter. Population challenge, increasing demand for food maintains that rapid growth of population is instrumental in the utilization of increasing amount of land which is limited in supply. Given land scarcity and intensification of its use as well as environmental concerns in the light of growing demand for food necessitates, it is argued, use of nutrients from outside the farms. The importance of Fertilizer application discusses efficient, sustainable and appropriate use of fertilizers. It also considers that in order to meet the growing demand for food in the face of a given amount of land for cultivation and use, intensification of using land as a method has been adopted to increase agricultural production .It, however, asserts that Intensifying use of land has been found to damage the environment and reduce yield over time and thus it is stated that protection of environment and preventing land degradation and soil erosion are a matter of concern. These are addressed towards the latter part of the paper under Fertilizer Use and Environmental Concerns & Sustainable agriculture. In the Economic aspect, moreover, some light is shed on the matter. Finally and with a view on the objectives set in the beginning, Conclusion summarizes the findings. It has found that modern agriculture can only meet food requirement of growing population on a sustainable basis in the long term, if, and only if, necessary nutritional needs of land can be provided from outside with special regard to maintaining the environment
