The Korean Strategy of Enhancing Offshore Equipment’s Industry by Entering Offshore Service Market

This study is dealing with the issue of enhancing of Korean offshore plant. This raises the issue of how to globalize the Korean offshore equipments. Korean equipments cannot be verified because Korea does not have oil field and offshore platform. In order to resolve the problem, this study suggests making slacks, by which the industry goes over to foreign markets. This study adopts the slack model as a main methodology with the help of questionnaire method in order to determine the strengths and weaknesses by the viewpoint of foreign experts in the field. Finally by adopting SWOT (Strength-Opportunity-Weakness-Threat) analysis this study suggests a strategy. The strategy suggests that Korean offshore platform industry should goes first into the market of Offshore Service Industry (OSI) and then its equipments should be verified and the equipments are finally manufactured domestically. Finally, strategic plans for obtaining the technology for ship building equipments are needed as well as government support
