Practical considerations in social policy development and implementation on municipal level

In modern world the significance and the understanding of different kinds of social policy and key actors are of extreme importance in development of strategic and program documents. The role and contribution of local authorities to social policy implementation is examined through the example of Bulgaria. The analyses of some good practices lead to valuable recommendations regarding provision of quality services on the municipal level in line with the national andEuropean priorities in social policy. Capacity building and management in municipal administrations are discussed as key factors along with thenecessity of establishment of a coordination mechanism on regional and national level.
