The effect of natural charge of Felueor on the kinetics of SN2 reaction inhaloalkanes of Cl : a DFT (B3LYP) study

The haloalkanes(also known as Halogenoalkanes) are a group of chemical compounds, consisting of alkanes, such as methane or ethane, with one or more halogens linked, such as chlorine or fluorine, making them a type of organic halide. The important types of haloalkanes are CFCs. CFCs are chlorofluorocarbons which are the compounds containing carbon with chlorine and fluorine atoms attached. They were used as refrigerants, propellants for aerosols, for generating foamed plastics like expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foam, and as solvents for dry cleaning and for general degreasing purposes. Unfortunately, CFCs are largelyresponsible for destroying the ozone layer. In thehigh atmosphere, the carbon chlorine bonds break to give chlorine free radicals. It is these radicals which destroy ozone. Studying the chemistry of haloalkanescan be useful for understanding the reaction which take place in atmosphere.
