Ultrasonic-assisted synthesis of a novel nano-structured Hg(II) coordination polymers

A new Hg(II) coordination polymers containing 4,4'-bithiazole ligand was synthesized by conventional and sonochemical methods, characterized by by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR and elemental analysis), and its X-ray crystallographic structures was determined. The crystal packing and supramolecular feature of this coordination polymer was studied using geometrical analysis. The thermal stability of compound both its bulk and nano-size has been studied by thermal gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal (DTA) analyses and compared each other. This study may provide further insight into discovering the role of weak intermolecular interactions in the context of nano-supramolecular assembly.
