DFT Study Comparison of Hormone Treatment via Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Indol Acetic Acid (IAA) on Alkaloid Distribution in Vinca

DFT calculations at B3LYP/6-31G* level of theory on the hormone treatment of Vinca by Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Indol Acetic Acid (IAA) showed that interaction of cationic intermediates with GA3 and IAA disturbed biosynthesis route map, and provided suitable conformations for intermediates in favor of Vindolinine and Catharanthine. The results showed that GA3 was more effective that IAA.
