چکیده مقاله:

Oxidized regenerated cellulose have astonishing features make it good candidate for many biomedical applications. Generally, in an oxidation reaction primary hydroxyl group is selectively converted into carboxyl group. In this study, oxidized regenerated cellulose, type viscose, was obtained by a new selectively oxidizing system, HNO3-Cu. The effects of HNO3-Cu oxidation on structure and properties of the samples were investigated. Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis confirmed the formation of carboxyl groups on the oxidized sample. Compared with original viscose sample, X-ray diffraction (XRD) result showed an increasing in crystallinity after oxidation (58% to 79%). Considerable damage at the surface of the oxidized sample was observed in SEM micrographs.
