Training and empowerment of Community Health Workers (Behvarz) to design operational planning in health houses

Introduction: For empowerment of community health indicators, all levels of the organization should have a goal and plan. Given the critical role of Behvarzes(CHW) in health systems and a variety of their services, operational planning in health houses is essential. Therefore, due to the lack of related training course in Behvarz regulation, in this study training and empowerment of Behvarzes for designing operational planning was conducted.Methodology: Learning and skills scheme of operational planning was approved by the trainers` council. Then the students were trained by theoretical and practical courses and workshops. Then it was performed in 8 villages of Kashan. Finally, data were reported and analyzed by software SPSS16.Results: The study results showed that 122house restrooms were reconstructed, 76 of trade men were trained and received the certificate for general health, 324 work rooms were checked for professional health, 221 workers were medically examined and 93 elderly people were covered under the plan for one year. However, comparisons showed that in some cases there has been observed no improvement in some villages in first 6 months of 2011.Conclusion: Results showed that operational planning in health houses by Behvarzes can lead to empowerment of productivity, new attitude, optimal time management and finallysignificantcritical indicators of community health increase. Therefore,it is recommended to train and perform operational planning for all health care workers.
