Study the effects of cinnamon and liquorices extracts on obesity and the expression level of cytokines IL-6 in liver of rats fed by high fat diet

obesity and overweighing are associated with diseases like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer and mortality. This condition is a type of chronic low-grade inflammation which could be an important risk factor in some diseases. It has been shown that proinflammatory cytokines like IL-6 are effective in the performance of fatty tissue and thus can be associated with metabolic disorders. On the other hand, nutritional habits are also effective on fat accumulation and expression of inflammatory genes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different plant extracts (liquorice, cinnamon) on BMI and expression of IL-6 gene in obese male rats.
