چکیده مقاله:

The accident rate based on direct exposure needs such data as: traffic volume, traveled distance and traveled time. It is difficult to access such data and, on the other hand, exposure and accident rate of special groups (e.g. age, job and sex group of drivers) cannot be calculated. Involvement ratio according to indirect exposure is a method that will overcome the problems of accident rate method. Although, there are some shortcomings concerned to this measurement method, but the good characteristics compared to some limitations have caused to be used much along with other measurement methods. The results of present research show that reconnaissance of critical parameters which influence traffic accident base on involvement ratio in comparison to accident rate method is more exact, trusted and comprehensive. This is due to realistic reconnaissance and applying different and various parameters of driver-vehicle characteristics in involvement ratio method
