First language Acquisition: Phonological Development

Language acquisition is a process by which children acquire the ability to receive and comprehend language as well as to produce and use words and sentences to communicate. One of the fundamental systems which a language acquisition is supposed to comprise is its phonology. The purpose of this paper is to study how children acquire this fundamental system and casts a brief glance at the theories of first language acquisition and the process of acquiring language sounds.
