چکیده مقاله:

The type and concentration of enhancers and effects of different weight percentages of adhesive (acrylic:Duro-tak 387-2054 and silicone Bio PSA-4603) on the release of estradiol are investigated using 16 experimental formulations for optimization. Obtaining the optimum point for suitable drug release rates, was the main aim of our study. The in vitro release of estradiol from different weight percentages of adhesives in presence of two enhancers, oleyl alcohol and dipropylene glycol with 2 %( w/w) drug loading in all 16 formulations was determined at 37°C using a Franz diffusion cell. The drug release was carried out in propylene glycol (40%) medium. The ultra violet spectrophotometry was used to analyze the release of estradiol from the system. The results show that weight percentages of adhesive plays very important role in the quantitative release of estradiol. The rate of estradiol from acrylic/silicone blend is higher than each acrylic and silicone adhesives. The release data exhibit reductions with the addition of dipropylene glycol up to 3 %( w/w) and tend to increase from 3 to 6 %( w/w) dipropylene glycol. The role of oleyl alcohol on the release of estradiol behavior is opposite to that of dipropylene glycol and the release values are increased with the addition of acrylic adhesive up to 50%(w/w) and are lowered in presence of 50 to 100%(w/w)acrylic adhesive in the formulation.
