Real-Time Event Detection System in Twitter Social Network

The increasing expansion of social networks and the user’s exploitation of these networks for data exchange and sharing sources. Has been created a suitable environment for identifying events. Twitter is a very common social network in which millions of users can release different news and express their idea about different aspects of events. We present in this paper a real-time event detection system in Twitter social network. The design of this system is a modular design which increases the speed of system’s processing. System specifies the type and place of important events by studying Twitter streams and analyzing different parameters. This system has numerous applications including in news agencies for detecting new events and in marketing for discovering target market. The results of experiments and different comparisons indicate that this method has higher accuracy and efficiency than other methods.
