چکیده مقاله:

Mowing” is one of the earlier poems composed by Robert Frost. The poem presents Frost’s sound of sense” technique through which a poet uses particular sounds and syllables to achieve an aural feeling of the subject and the intention meant by the narrative. The poem is an extraordinary example of Robert Frost’s poetic sensibility. By referring to the pastoral life and nature, Frost founded an atmosphere and space for release and pleasure. Thus, he produces the memory and experience within these hollow and empty spaces. In fact, by paying attention to the actions without any narration or interpretation, he introduces a way for achieving the meaning and memory. Frost’s pastoral and nature poems are his efforts to regain this memory and freedom from static daily life. There is a fundamental ambiguity of feeling in Frost's view of nature. Such ambiguity indicates the poetic potential of Frost's nature. Man can never find a home in nature, nor can he live outside of it. Like his rural New England, nature evokes paradoxical attitudes: on the one hand it is a realm of ideals where the essential realities are found in their pristine forms; on the other hand, it is an inferior place where life is crude, insensate, and mechanical. In fact, in his poem, Frost wants to design a real world in timelessness, in which the action is important not the reproduction or reflection of it. In this case he produces a memory that is spontaneously in reproduction of itself. By this, he creates a new meaning in every moment, so this newness of memory and meaning brings a sense of pleasure and convenience. By this atmosphere, Frost enters the life of human beings and produces a memory and identity for them.
