چکیده مقاله:
This study sought to explore the effectiveness of computer game assisted teaching on Iranian EFL learners. In particular, computer game assisted teaching was considered in terms of the effectiveness of computer spelling game on Iranian EFL learners' motivation level; and. To do so, 50 pre-intermediate English learners were asked to participate in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups of experimental and control. Their motivation was measured at the beginning of the study by Salimi's (2000) motivation inventory. In the experimental group, the Top Notch spelling game was used whereas in the control group, English vocabulary was taught through traditional methods. At the end of the study, the participants' motivation level was measured again. The results revealed that using computer game had positive effect in motivation level of EFL learners whereas regarding to the results. Based on the results, it is concluded that computer game assisted teaching can enhance the development of motivation level among pre-intermediate learners
