چکیده مقاله:
Phytoremediation is an effective and low cost technology to remove different pollutants such as dyecontaining effluents from the environment. The present study was carried out to investigate thepotential of Lemna minor L. for bioremediation of Malachite Green (MG) solution. Our resultsrevealed the notable ability of the plant species in biological degradation of MG. The effects of the dyeon several plant physiological responses such as growth, photosynthetic pigments content andantioxidant enzymes activity were investigated. The content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll a+b andarotenoids was significantly reduced at 10 and 20 mg/L of the dye. The activities of superoxide dismutase and peroxidase were remarkably increased at high concentration of the contaminant in theplant verifying their importance in plant tolerance to the dye contamination.
