Ecological evaluation for sustainable Intensive Recreation planning (Case Study: Dena Protected Area and Dena National Park, Iran)

Ecological capability evaluation is process that attempts by regulating the relation between man and nature in harmony with nature to provide appropriate development and is taken as the basis for making decision and principle planning of land for decision makers, Is known as one of themost useful tools for achieving to Sustainable Development such as Nature-based tourism. In thisresearch overlaying method has been used for the purpose of identification and determination ofSuitable areas for intensive and extensive recreation in Dena national park and protected area. Suitable zones have been chose according to economic and social features of the area. In addition, Physical, efficient and realistic tourism carrying capacity was determined according toefficient using for visitors in the study areas and decreasing negative effects on environment. The results suggest that 43.5 Ha of the area are eligible for necessary ecological conditions for intensive and extensive recreation zones.
