Using of Smartphones by Communication Students; a Case Study onWhatsApp in India and Telegram in Iran

Distance Education is a new topic in the education world; it has become much fresh by using the Internet and social media in current decade. Smartphone is an important phenomenon in the current age that has created different ideas and opportunities for communication. All kinds of applications are in the competition on the one hand, and on the other immediate information and instant massages have significant influence on making distance closer. This kind of communication has leaded us to get more familiar with other societies. All kinds of information and knowledge are sharing by social networking websites or applications on smartphones between individuals and public. It just takes less than a second for getting aware and informed about the news or a topic around the world. People in all group ages have free access to their circles via Internet. They are following different pages with different aspects and aims like education and information. This study tries to explorer how and what Indian and Iranian communication students are getting and sharing knowledge via Smartphones. Method of this study will be based on both quantitative and qualitative by using interview and questionnaire.
