چکیده مقاله:

Students’ learning styles and self-regulated learning strategies are among the main factors that help determine how students learn English language as a foreign language. The aims of this study were to investigate the relationship between EFL learners’ perceptual learning style and their self-regulated learning strategies. In this study, the participants will be 50 EFL learners of foreign language institutions classified in upper- intermediate level, ranging ages between 19 and 23 years old at Zahedan. They will be consisting of both 20 males and 30 females. They will be selected randomly. Pintrich’s Motivated Learning Strategies Questionnaire (MLSQ) and Reid’s perceptual learning style preference questionnaire (PLSPQ) were used in present study. After collecting the data, a number of descriptive and inferential analyses were conducted on the data. The findings of the study indicated there was statistically significant relationship between learners’ perceptual style and their self-regulated learning strategies. And also this study showed that there is no significant difference between Iranian male and female with regard to their perceptual learning style. It revealed the most frequent learning style for Iranian EFL learners was kinesthetic style. Tactile and auditory styles ranked the second and third styles. Also it was shown that individual style was the least frequent. With regarding to third research question, the analysis of regression indicated that independent variable auditory is the best predictor for self-regulated strategies. That is to say, more self-regulated learners were auditory learners.
